Is Wan Free?

Do you have to pay for Wan AI?
Not to obtain the model, if you use a version with published weights. Yes, eventually, to have someone else run it for you.

Is there a 100% free AI video maker?
There are sites that say so. Before believing one, check three things — they are the places the cost is usually hidden:
- Is there a daily cap, and what happens at zero? "Unlimited" often means unlimited attempts at a queue you rarely reach the front of.
- What resolution and length does the free tier actually produce? Free frequently means a shorter, smaller, watermarked render than the one in the marketing sample.
- Which model version are you really getting? Some pages advertise Wan version numbers that no official source has released. If a site offers a version the Wan-Video organization has not published, that claim is worth distrusting before you upload anything.

Are credits returned when a generation fails?
Yes, once, for eligible failures. A task that ends in a failed state with credits still active is refunded — that covers submission failure, a provider-reported failure, and a server-settled timeout.
Completed output is not refunded for taste. If the video renders and you dislike it, the GPU time was still spent.
